As a Senior Design Prototyper at D-Ford, I collaborate with an incredibly talented and diverse user experience team to ideate and develop innovative concepts through designing digital prototypes. Our work primarily focuses on enhancing vehicle experiences and related services. Being part of Ford’s EPLM division, we also partner with other businesses to help them better understand their customers and design more impactful, user-centered experiences.
Our work often involves co-creating ideas using tools like BlueScape, Figma, and Miro, while also building out our concepts both digitally and physically to uncover unforeseen challenges and needs. I’ve contributed by training team members, creating APIs, and developing interactive web experiences, videos, animations, as well as augmented and virtual reality experiences for the team and research purposes. Additionally, I produce videos showcasing our prototypes to effectively share the experiences and demonstrate the setup process with other team members.
Web Based Prototyping
I’m always exploring new tools and enjoy sharing what I’ve learned with my team. The following sample demonstrates an augmented reality workflow I used to develop some of my concepts during the period when we were working from home. For most of my AR and VR prototypes, I primarily rely on Maya and Unity but have also used tools like Enklu for rapid ideation.
Augmented Reality Prototyping
We explored various AR tools to enhance our workflow and experimented with Enklu for quick concept development. I genuinely enjoy creating rapid prototypes using AR and VR technologies—it’s incredible how they can instantly transform your home or any space into an entirely new environment with limitless possibilities!
