The Chicken Mansion Show
In early 2016, I stumbled upon a catalog for baby chicks that you could order and have delivered right to your doorstep! After doing a little research online about raising backyard chickens, I was hooked—I just had to have hens and fresh eggs! And that’s how The Chicken Mansion Show all began!

Building the Chicken Mansion
I started by picking the perfect spot in my yard for the chicken coop. I wanted it to be away from the house, ideally downwind, and close to an area where I could compost the chicken manure. After some consideration, I decided on a cozy corner near the garden—it felt like the ideal spot!
My friend Chris Bartholomew became the lead architect and builder for the project, bringing his expertise in construction and his newly earned Master’s degree in Architecture from Lawrence Tech. We started with a simple napkin sketch of the design, which eventually evolved into a 3D model. From there, we brought it to life with plenty of lumber, nails, screws, and chicken wire.
With a lot of effort and teamwork, we built what is now known as The Chicken Mansion! This coop was built to last, featuring thick insulation in every wall, multiple types of doors, ventilation flaps, and convenient drawers to make cleanup easier. It’s proven to be incredibly sturdy, even in the winter, keeping the chickens safe and comfortable.
I also learned that happy chickens lay more eggs, so it’s essential to feed them and provide fresh water every day. Chickens are a fantastic addition to any backyard farm!

After building the coop and addressing a few security flaws, such as adding a top fencing area, I started letting the hens free-range during the day. Watching the chickens roam the yard and search for bugs felt incredibly peaceful. I enjoyed seeing them play and explore so much that I began filming their activities. Inspired by their antics, I decided to create a YouTube channel called The Chicken Mansion Show. This project allowed me to share their daily adventures and bring their charm to a wider audience.
I regularly create new videos for The Chicken Mansion Show whenever I capture exciting footage of the birds. Each episode focuses on showcasing the chickens without any talking or distractions. My goal is to produce relaxing content that anyone can enjoy, regardless of language. The simple, peaceful nature of the videos makes them accessible and enjoyable for a global audience.
