After my business trip to Shanghai, I was blown away by all the electric scooters and bikes around the city. I began looking for one when I returned to the states. I did end up finding a bunch of various ebike kits that were for sale on Ebay and other places. I decided to to begin building out an electric bike from a free 1973 Schwinn Tandem bike I had received.
I purchased a 48 Volt ebike hub motor for the front wheel and a 48 volt, 20 amp hour battery pack and got to work. These bikes can travel over 25 mph and can reach distances greater than 20 miles on single charge!
One bike led to another and now I have a website for the hobby/business called oxfordebike.com!
